Before starting law school, Anthony worked as a field manager and canvass director for Working America, the community affiliate of the AFL-CIO. In this position, Anthony worked on legislative and electoral campaigns in Virginia and Pennsylvania, and supervised a team of student activists as part of a Union Summer program in New Hampshire. During law school, Anthony spent a semester as a Government Affairs extern at the AFL-CIO.
